Wedding at “Historic Blenheim” in Fairfax, Virginia.

This past weekend I worked at a wedding at the “Historic Blenheim” in Fairfax, VA. I had a blast at this wedding, the crowd was extremely fun, and the couple were very outgoing.

 

The room is small but it can be great for small, intimate weddings.

If you are considering using uplight, make sure to let the lighting company know that there are only outlets on one side of the room. I added 4 uplights to enhance the main table look.

The room was initially set up for dinner, & toasts. Then they had the cake cutting right out side this room, giving the catering staff a chance to transform the room for dancing.

Once the cake cutting was done and the room was ready for dancing, I started playing good music to guide the crowd back to the room. The crowd was dancing for a couple of minutes then I receive the signal the couple was ready to come in and do the first dance. So I announced on the microphone the couple was going to enter the room, to welcome the couple with enthusiasm, and the crowd did so. They did the first dance, the father and daughter dance, and the mother and son dance. After the party started.

One of the groomsmen asked for the “wobble” and the crowd loved it.

“dj in md” plays at Bridal Show in Cambridge Maryland

Today I got up early and drove 2 hours to Cambridge Maryland for a Bridal Show. I had a lot of fun networking with people, especially the future brides.

I play music on stage for 2 hours for the guests. Everyone had a great time. They were many raffles.

I was representing Entertaintment Exchange, one of the biggest talent agencies in the area.

One of the people I want to mention is Bruce. He is charge of booking the Hall.

The hall is spacious and to die for since it has big windows that allow you to see the ocean.

The event hall is called “Sailwinds of Cambridge” at “Governors Hall.

“dj in md” visits “ultrabar” for “carnival fridays”

Last night I had chance to visit “Ultrabar” for Carnival Fridays. My friend call me last week because her brother was turning 18 and he wanted to visit a DC nightclub. I wasn’t booked that night so I decided to join them.

I was amazed at how big the line was at the club when I arrived. I am glad I knew Luis from Panorama Productions and we had sent our names to his guest list. So we were able to avoid the long line and actually get in for free. Cover charge is $20.

“dj in md” Goes the Extra Mile for his Clients

Recently two of my clients have asked me to make a mix for them. One of the mixes is for a quince. She needs a couple of songs to be mixed together for a surprise dance. Also the second mix is for a zumba instructor. The zumba instructor is performing at a school and it needs about 3 songs to be mixed together for his performance.

I don’t charge my clients for small work like mixes. I am not sure if other any other “dj in md” charges for creating mixes for clients, but I know I don’t. I feel this is my way of saying thank you.

I still remember one of my clients called me a month ago. Her daughter was performing at her school and she needed only the instrumental of a song. She looked for it everywhere and couldn’t find it. When she called I was able to find the instrumental in a couple of minutes due to the nature of my work. I emailed her the instrumental while she was on the phone, and she was so excited.

I love it when my clients call me and I can be of service.
